An electrical installation refers to the ‘fixed’ parts of an electrical circuit such as the wiring, wall sockets, consumer unit (fuse boards) and distribution boards. Electrical installations can be added to or altered as user requirements change but any work should be done by a qualified electrician as certification is often required.
The type of certificate will depend on the extent of the work being carried out – generally a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for small scale alterations or an Electrical Installation Certificate for larger electrical additions, but your electrician will be able to advise and provide this after completing the work.
What to expect with Ecolux
On arrival at your property, we’ll introduce ourselves and discuss the scope of the work you would like to have done. We’ll then make an assessment of your existing electrical installation in accordance with BS 7671 to ensure that the new electrical addition or alteration work can done safely. Assuming this the case, we’ll provide you with a cost estimate and if you are happy to proceed, we’ll get to work. Smaller jobs will generally be completed in one visit to your home or business but larger electrical installations will generally require subsequent visits.
Once we’ve completed your additions or alterations you’ll be issued with the relevant certification for your records, and we’ll leave your property as clean and tidy as we found it. All work carried out by our electricians comes with a lifetime Ecolux workmanship guarantee.
